Toy block

Early intervention

In-home or community-bases services for children with developmental delays that are private or government-funded

Edema

The excess of fluid in the body tissues that often causes visible swelling

Electrolytes

Chemicals in the blood that include sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate

Endotracheal tube (ET tube)

A small, plastic tube inserted into the trachea (windpipe) allowing air and/or oxygen to pass to the lungs, bypassing the nose

Esophagitis

Areas of the esophagus are reddened, swollen and irritated

Esophagus (food pipe)

The tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach
