Toy block

Inflammation

A tissue response showing swelling, redness and pain in a specific area

Intrauterine growth retardation

The growth of a fetus is slowed or stopped while still in the womb

Intravaneous (IV)

A needle inserted into a vein that allows the administration of fluids, nutrition and/or medications

Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH)

Bleeding into the ventricles (and possibly the surrounding brain tissue)

Intubation

An endotracheal tube is inserted via the mouth or nose into the trachea to assist with breathing
