Children's Medical Ventures, a global leader in the advancement of developmental care practices, has created an important tool for NICU professionals - The Developmental Care Self-Assessment. This free, web-based resource enables NICU clinicians to evaluate and score the developmental care practices of their unit in the three key areas of infant care, family-centered practices and physical environment in the NICU. Upon completion, a unit score and evaluation are provided.

To take the assessment:

  • Go to the Respironics University home page by clicking the button below.
  • Current users can Login. New users must Sign Up!
  • Proceed to the Respironics eLobby.
  • Click Launch Tool.
  • Read and follow the instructions.
